Mbaran'gandu Wildlife Management Area:
Mbaran'gandu Wildlife Management Area is located in Ruvuma Region at the southern border of Selous Game Reserve and northern Nachingwea. The area derives its name from Mbaran'gandu River, which crosses it before flowing into Luwegu River, which then joins the Kilombero on to Ruaha, and becoming the mighty Rufiji River.
Mbaran'gandu is dominated by hilly terrains that could attract tourists who likes rumbling safari.
Mbaran’gandu is an extension of Selous Game Reserve, it contains large herd of elephant, Buffalo, Lion and Leopard, and above all it has maned lion, which are rare in southern part of Tanzania
At Kilima Tembo, there is huge gathering of elephants in one area. It allows visitors to see the highest number of elephant concentration than in any other national parks.
Ruvuma River:
The Ruvuma River is a home to Hippos and Crocodiles, and Lake Chidya, is excellent for bird life.The River has its origins to the east of Lake Nyasa. Its flow reflects the seasons, during the wet and spate a mighty river two kilometres across. In the dry, a canoe can cross in minutes. Ruvuma river acts as a border between Tanzania and Mozambique.
