Mwanza is the second largest city in Tanzania, located on the southern shore of Lake Victoria. The City is built on hills, providing a great view of Lake Victoria. Mwanza is the place where the earliest 18th century's explorers visited in their quest to find the source of River Nile.
The growth of tourism has come from a vast beauty of its surrounding area and its proximity to the various national parks -and Mwanza is a convenient starting point for trips to the islands in Lake Victoria - Ukerewe, Ukara and Rubondo and/or trough the world famous western part of Serengeti National Park.
The economy in Mwanza Region is dominated by smallholder agriculture employing 85% of the region’s population and complemented by an expanding fishing sector.
Mwanza has eight district which are Sengerema, Magu, Geita, Kwimba, Nyamagana, Ukerewe, Ilemela, and Misungwi. Visit Bunge website for MP's http://www.bunge.go.tz/bunge/Mp_ByRegion.asp
