Ruaha National Park:
Ruaha NP

Ruaha is the second largest national park after the Serengeti. Ruaha National Park is in a remote spectacular wilderness, undisturbed wildlife, and breathtaking scenery. It has big herds of elephants, vast concentrations of buffalo, gazelle, and over 400 bird species, Ruaha’s limitless wilderness, together with the surrounding game reserves of Rungwa and Kisigo -- stretches over 40,000 square kilometres. Recently there was news that the government is going to allocate more space for the National. The increment would make it the largest park in Africa.

Because of its rather remote location, Ruaha National Park is largely unexplored. This makes a safari to the national park have the feel of a private adventure and unique experience.

The fort was built for four years, it is estimated that it was started in 1887at a time when Chief Mkwawa knew about German activities near the coast. Chief Mkwawa got the idea from seeing other stone forts in Unyamwezi or the building of Arabs and Europeans near the coast.
