Cinemas and Movies: The American Marines residence shows movies on a big screen on Thursdays (passport ID needed for entry).
Bars: The Q Bar at Oysterbay area, Blue Palms bar at Mikocheni area, Sugar Rays at Palm Beach Hotel, Ryans Irish Pub above Las Vegas Casino and Smokies Tavern in Msasani.
Casinos: Newafrica Casino and Monte Carlo Casino located at the City Center, Las Vegas Casino at Upanga sea view, and The Sea Cliff Hotel Casino.
Night clubs: California Dreamers nightclub at Upanga Sea View area, ZS Billiards Club and Mambo Club both in Oysterbay area.
The Slipway at Msasani area, Club Bilicanas nightclub at the City Centre Mkwepu street, Cassanova Disco in Sea Cliff Hotel
Live music: Try Blue Palms in Mikocheni, Smokies Tavern, Q Bar, and Ryans Pub. The New Africa Hotel often has a resident live band.
TOURIST ATTRACTIONS:
Botanical Garden: This garden is located right in the city. The garden was created by German settlers in 1906. After the World War1 the British took over the maintenance of the garden as they became new occupying powers.
Peacocks can be seen on the garden. Jacaranda trees, Scarlet frame trees, purple bougainvillea flowers, and other few species are maintained for years.
Makumbusho Village:

The village is located along Bagamoyo Road. It’s an open air museum which exhibits authentically constructed traditional huts (Houses) from different regions of the country. Traditional dances, and other activities takes place at the village. You can try your dancing skills there.
Karibu Art Gallery: It has two locations, along Bagamoyo Road, and Samora Avenue – in the City Centre. This is a gallery where locals sell their arts and crafts. They offer a wide selection of beautiful carvings ( vinyago), pottery, and Tinga Tinga paintings.
Mwalimu Nyerere Cultural Centre (Nyumba ya Sanaa):
This centre displays arts and Crafts mostly made by Women and Individuals with disabilities. It was constructed in 1983 by a Catholic Nun with help from Norway fund.Contact:+255 22-2131727-
Mnazi Mmoja Park: A monumental park to celebrate the country’s independence in 1961. Located in the city centre.
The fish Market: This is a biggest fish market. The difference with other fish markets is the fact that you can try fresh catches on spot. Venders fry fresh catches every day for local and visitors. The market is located next to the state house, and Ocean Road hospital, and Botanical Gardens. You can combine the fish market and Kigamboni Village tour as the ferry to Kigamboni is located next to the market.
Gezaulole Village: This is an Eco tourism village, located about 20 miles south of Dar es Salaam. It holds historical features such as ruin dating about 1000 years. Few species of birds and monkeys can be found. It also surrounded by quiet white sand beaches, with spectacular coral reefs.

Beaches:

Dar has very beatifull beaches along its coast. Oysterbay, Coco beach, Jangwani, and Kigamboni's beautifull beaches are a few to mention of. There are also tranquil beaches of Bongoyo and Mbudya Islands. You can arrange a day trips to the islands of Bongoyo and Mbudya. Boats can be taken from Jangwani Sea Breeze Hotel. Other Boats can be arranged from Whitesands Hotel and Bahari Beach Hotel or alternatively from The Slipway at Msasani Peninsula. Bogoya and Mbudya are 'tranquil' beaches during the mid-week.
National Stadium: You can also arrange a tour to the countries new 60,000 seater stadium located in Temeke.
