Zanzibar Commission for Tourism (ZCT)

Zanzibar Commission for Tourism (ZCT) was established in 1992 as a public institution.  Later in 1996, it got legal support when the Tourism Promotion Act. No.9 was enacted. Under the Act the responsibility of the ZCT is explicitly shown as the promotion of Zanzibar as a tourist destination. Click here for more

Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA)

In 1961, Tanzania's first President, Julius Nyerere signed a petition pledging the protection of wild animals and wild places. The petition, known as the Arusha Manifesto, read in part:

"In accepting the trusteeship of our wildlife we solemly declare that we will do everything in our power to make sure that our children's grandchildren will be able to enjoy this rich and precious heritage."

Nyerere meant every word. His manifesto still guides Tanzania's economic and political policies. Click here for more

Tanzania Investment Centre(TIC)

Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC) is the primary agency of Government to coordinate, encourage, promote and facilitate investment in Tanzania and to advise the Government on investment related matters.

TIC is the focal point for investors. It is the first point of call for potential investors; it is a “one stop facilitative centre for all investors”. Click here for more

The Zanzibar Association of Tourism Investors (ZATI)

The Zanzibar Association of Tourism Investors (ZATI) is non-governmental, non-religious, and non-political organization. The Tourism industry is, at present, the most important sector of the Zanzibar economy in terms of foreign exchange earnings, and has many direct and indirect economic linkages throughout Zanzibar society. This association has been established to represent the interests of all tourism investors in Zanzibar. The aim is to ensure a sustainable and professional tourism industry of the highest standard, working with government institution to achieve this. The Association is very important in creating and implementing the ‘Public and Private Sector Partnership’ in order to succeed in the common goals of Zanzibar being a favorable tourist destination. The Tanzania Association of Tour Operators (TATO)

The Tanzania Association of Tour Operators was established to coordinate and spearhead collective representation in tourism industry in Tanzania.

To provide a common and comprehensive stand and input for the Government and in its institutions in matters pertaining to formulation of tourism policy, plans and programs.

To establish and maintain high quality and standards among its members and other tourism intermediaries i.e. Hotels, Reserved Areas, Airlines and Marine transport.
